Why are we called True Relationships? Two Big Reasons.
1. We aim for TRUE. That refers to Original Design, focusing on what works and rejecting what is false. There are many false intimacies in this crazy world. Initially, they SEEM to work, and ultimately, they wreak havoc on our lives, marriages, and families. Significant personal struggles often result from not knowing the truth about what works. Self-esteem, parenting, conflict resolution, communication, and co-dependency are good examples of areas in which we can get it dead wrong.
2. Everything Rises and Falls on Relationships. Even counseling concerns that focus on the individual usually have one or more relational connections. Think about it. Anger is typically directed at someone. Anxiety is often triggered by relational stress. Divorce is the result of two people missing what is true. You can go down the list and connect nearly every malady to some relational deficit - Infidelity, Depression, Stress, Trauma and PTSD, and Abuse.
