- Who leads the Intensives at True Relationships?
Generally, our President and Director of Counseling, Tim Buttrey, is the lead for all Intensives.
- Are the Intensives always at True Relationships' offices in Ohio?
Usually. Typically the best approach is for a couple to leave everything behind and come to us in Ohio to get away from their responsibilities, buckle down and focus exclusively on their marriage.
Local couples have even stayed in a hotel in order to focus entirely on each other, God, and their assignments during the intensive.
A third option is for the client to cover the expenses incurred for Tim to travel and stay in the city where they live. In addition, a private office will need to be secured (such as a local church.)
- What are some of the key aspects of a Marriage Intensive?
Unique to TR, we spend more than half of each day in counseling with the individual couple. After each day's counseling the couple then embarks on the designated homework. Our approach is unique to each couple. We refer to it as "organic." Although there are many tools, principles, and values that are frequently taught, the steps to redemption are rarely the same for each couple.
- What is the cost of a Marriage Intensive?
The fee for a One-Day Intensive is $1000. A Two-Day Intensive is $1850. The Original Four-Day Intensive is $3000. If Tim travels to the couple, then his travel expenses would be additional.
- What is the criteria for deciding how many days an Intensive should be?
Originally we only offered 4-Day Intensives. A high percentage of Intensives are for crisis marriages and 4 Days are necessary. Local couples began requesting the option of fewer days for less critical situations or they preferred to begin with fewer days and add more if deemed necessary. Generally speaking, fewer than four days is not advised for couples that are experiencing traumatic circumstances or imminent divorce. Fewer days will be considered in situations that warrant it.
